Easter, Pasqua, is a great time to visit Italy. It is a very important religious event in Italy, and Easter week, La settimana santa, is celebrated with processions, religious festivals and abundant delicious food….many traditionally served only during the Easter season.
Easter Sunday in Italy is a national holiday, as well as Easter Monday, which is known as Little Easter or Pasquetta in Italian. It is traditionally a day for enjoying the spring weather with friends and family, such as having a picnic or eating at a friend’s or relative’s home.
There is a saying in Italian: Natale con i tuoi, Pasqua con chi vuoi translated..’Christmas with your family, Easter with whoever you would like’.
BUONA PASQUA … wherever and with whomever you celebrate !
